Eric Bieniemy lauded

Things didn't go according to plan between Eric Bieniemy and the Washington Commanders in 2023. Some players didn't take kindly to his coaching methods, there was a distinct lack of balance offensively, and the offensive coordinator was too stubborn in his approach. That ended up being a recipe for disaster.

Bieniemy didn't get any serious interest from around the NFL, which spoke volumes. The coach is heading back to college at UCLA, who officially confirmed his hire on Saturday. Something that came with glowing praise from Bruins' head coach DeShaun Foster, who's confident he can enhance development and leadership across the board.

"Having one of the most innovative offensive minds in football join our staff speaks volumes to the type of program we are building here at UCLA. Coach Bieniemy's belief in our pillars shined throughout our conversations and confirmed he was the right man to not only help us develop an explosive approach on the field, but leaders off of it."

In truth, Bieniemy's coaching philosophy is probably better suited to impressionable college players rather the professional stars currently. His unwillingness to change for the modern-day player held him back. Adopting a hard mindset and implementing high demands should go over well with those looking to carve their path toward the next level.

If everything goes well, all hope might not be lost regarding an NFL return at some stage.
