Commanders news: Drake Maye, Adam Peters, Ben Johnson and Robert Griffin III

Commanders GM Adam Peters' leadership
Adam Peters has made his intentions known. The new Washington Commanders general manager wants to build a contender. He wants to do things the right way. He wants to build through the draft and lay long-term foundations for a sustainable future.
Peters has been a hotly-coveted figure for years. He spurned other advances to focus fully on getting the Washington gig. His vision for the franchise aligned perfectly with what Josh Harris and his brain trust had in mind to get the Commanders among the NFL powerhouses once again.
The front office leader doesn't plan on being an innocent bystander, either. Peters wants to form long-standing relationships, be accountable, and develop trust across the organization to attain one common goal based on comments via USA Today Sports.
"I think it is important with anybody to establish a connection with someone you are working with every single day and have a trust, a bond to be able to have hard conversations. I think that is by being around someone every day and they knowing you have their back and their best interest (at heart). That takes time to earn."

Hopes are high surrounding what Peters can do for the Commanders. After so much abject misery and ridicule for the best part of a generation, bringing this storied franchise off its knees will take time. Fortunately, it seems as if they've found the right guy.
