Commanders HC Dan Quinn's ambition

Dan Quinn might not have been everyone's first choice, but that doesn't mean he isn't more than qualified to be head coach of the Washington Commanders. His exceptional defensive mind and supreme leadership qualities could go over well with a group of players in dire need of some inspiration. It won't be a miracle cure overnight, but there is genuine belief from those in the building that they've found the right guy.

Quinn was delighted to get the opportunity to lead one of the NFL's most storied franchises back to potential prosperity based on comments via Sports Illustrated once the hire was officially confirmed by the team. He also laid out his ambitions to get the Commanders into contention sooner rather than later.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to become the next head coach of such a storied franchise and fanbase. Under the leadership of Josh Harris, the ownership group, and Adam Peters, we cannot wait to help usher in a new era of Washington Commanders football. The organization has an outstanding vision, and I’m honored to be a part of what’s next. We have a great task ahead of us, but the ownership group, Adam, and I are lockstep in putting in the work to achieve our goal: consistently competing for Super Bowls year in and year out."

As previously stated, it's going to take time. First head coaching hires from new owners don't go well looking at recent history around the NFL. Josh Harris and his hiring committee are hoping to buck the trend with Quinn, although much will also depend on how the team's recruitment goes throughout the offseason.
