Commanders news: Dan Quinn, Bill Belichick, Chip Kelly and new beginnings

Commanders targeting Chip Kelly?
Dan Quinn's background on defense goes against the current trend around the league. It also makes finding the right offensive coordinator to take the franchise forward arguably the most important remaining part of the equation.
This bears more significance if the Commanders take a quarterback with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. Quinn needs to act quickly with vacancies filling up and potential candidates diminishing. Any false move will come with grave consequences attached.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Commanders are reportedly taking a look at Chip Kelly - the former Philadelphia Eagles head coach and current UCLA supremo - to be their offensive coordinator. He's looking for a return to the league and Quinn might provide him with such an opportunity.
"UCLA head coach Chip Kelly is a potential candidate for Commanders OC under new head coach Dan Quinn, per sources. Kelly, a two-time NFL head coach, is believed to have interest in returning to the league and Washington will consider talking with him."

As expected, this didn't exactly draw the most positive reaction from fans on social media. Trusting Kelly with a rookie quarterback and an NFL offense is a gamble of epic proportions. While people would be willing to provide Quinn with some good grace, that might not be the case with this particular offensive coordinator target if the Commanders pulled the trigger.
