Jim Irsay issues warning to Commanders
Not everyone took the report surrounding the Washington Commanders' interest in Andrew Luck last year with good humor. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay sent out a stark warning to the franchise and anyone else who has plans to speak with the player - which does appear unlikely given we are now four seasons removed from his retirement decision.
In an obvious response to the news published by John Keim of ESPN, Irsay stated that any approach for Luck that didn't receive permission from the Colts is a violation of tampering rules and could lead to further action if proved true.
"If any NFL Team, attempted to contact Andrew Luck (or any associate of him)… to play for their Franchise - it would be a clear Violation of the League’s Tampering Policy."

Irsay and Dan Snyder don't have the best relationship, to put it mildly. Therefore, getting one last win over the outgoing Commanders' owner with another rule breach cannot be dismissed entirely.
In a weird way, this would be a fitting way for Snyder to bow out. The billionaire was never keen on doing things the right way throughout his two-decade reign, which brought little on-field success and multiple scandals to Washington's door.
Watch this space, I guess.
