Commanders at Eagles - Week 4

The NFC East is one of the most competitive divisions in football. If the Washington Commanders want to stand any chance of reaching the postseason, how they fare against divisional opponents will eventually be the difference between success and failure.

It seems as if the Philadelphia Eagles are once again favorites for the crown as defending NFC Conference champions. Jalen Hurts is the best signal-caller in the division and going on the road represents a hostile environment the Commanders must be ready for.

Prediction: Loss (3-1)

All good things must come to an end. Anything the Commanders get out of this contest would be a bonus, but they at least have a nice cushion following a three-game winning streak to begin their season.

Commanders vs. Bears - Week 5

Ron Rivera comes up against the team he famously played for as part of the 1985 defense that remains widely regarded as the greatest in NFL history. This is also a winnable game for the Commanders despite the Chicago Bears having the potential to become a much more prolific outfit in 2023.

If the Commanders want to win this one, it will come down to their defensive front and whether it can pile enough pressure on Justin Fields to make things uncomfortable. When healthy, Washington's front four is a match for absolutely anyone at the end of the day, so the notion is entirely plausible.

Prediction: Win (4-1)

The Bears could be absolutely anything - especially with a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver in D.J. Moore. However, the Commanders can dispose of another opponent on home soil if the game plan is correct.
