Commanders CBs (6)

  • Kendall Fuller, Benjamin St-Juste, Emmanuel Forbes, Quan Martin, Cameron Dantzler Sr., Rachad Wildgoose

The Washington Commanders also recognized that cornerback was a position of need this off-season. Unlike at linebacker, they invested heavily in the position – claiming young veteran Cameron Dantzler Sr. and spending their first two draft picks on Emmanuel Forbes and Quan Martin.

Simply put, all three should see plenty of playing time behind starting boundary corners Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste.

Fuller - at the ripe old age of 28 years old - needs to prove he is not slowing down and St-Juste needs to stay healthy. Forbes needs to show his wafer-thin physique can stand up to the rigors of the NFL and Martin needs to show he has a position, and isn’t stuck between corner and safety.

Dantzler (on the boundary) and Wildgoose (in the slot) provide insurance.

Veteran Danny Johnson may again be destined to begin the season on the practice squad before inevitable injuries in the backfield require his call-up. He is a very steady presence whenever he is needed.

I think the team may prefer Tariq Castro Fields as a boundary option to Christian Holmes. Look for Castro-Fields to also get an invite to the practice squad.
