Best NFL Prop Bets for Cardinals vs. Commanders in NFL Week 1

The Commanders finished last season 8-8-1 and have turned the keys of the offense over to second-year pro Sam Howell.

It’s a new era in Washington and despite the Commanders winning the biggest preseason game of all-time, the Josh Harris era will officially get underway on Sunday in front of a sellout crowd in Landover Maryland.

We’ll also get a look at a couple of late-round quarterbacks. Joshua Dobbs will be making his Arizona Cardinals debut and the third start of his career that began back when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Sam Howell will make his second NFL start as he begins his second NFL season after being a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

With relatively unknown commodities at quarterback, we could find some value on the prop market. I’ll give you my picks, but first check out this promo from the FanDuel Sportsbook.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Cardinals vs. Commanders

  • Jahan Dotson anytime TD
  • Brian Robinson over 57.5 rush yards
  • Joshua Dobbs under 0.5 passing touchdown

Jahan Dotson anytime TD

To start last season, Dotson caught four touchdowns in his first four games. That includes two in the first game of his career, Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He’s undersized, but with the way he plays the football in the air he’s such a good red zone threat and will develop into a legit 1A to Terry McLaurin who is the clear alpha on the outside.

McLaurin is actually questionable for Week1, so there’s a chance that Dotson is the No. 1 option for Sam Howell against one of the worst rosters in the NFL.

Brian Robinson over 57.5 rush yards

The Commanders have gone back and forth on who their starting running back is for a couple of years now. They just never seem to actually believe in Antonio Gibson, so despite my belief in his talent I’m going to listen to them.

Robinson is going to be the guy in a crowded backfield and Ron Rivera will want to protect his young quarterback in Week 1. Last year in Howell’s only start, he only threw the ball 19 times.

Joshua Dobbs under 0.5 passing touchdown

Dobbs is old to only be making his third career start. He only got the opportunity to start at all last season because Mike Vrabel hated Malik Willis so much he couldn’t stand to watch him play another snap.

The Cardinals have a terrible roster and are going to rely on a first-round rookie left tackle against Montez Sweat and this ferocious defensive line. The Commanders will have Dobbs running for his life all game long and there aren’t many receivers for him to find if he does survive the pass-rush.
