Commanders could hire Chris Morgan

  • Offensive Line Coach | Chicago Bears

This is my biggest dice roll.

Chris Morgan is Andy Heck, only ten years younger. He has extensive experience coaching lines - with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and yes - even the Washington Commanders.

He was also a Shanahan guy. Morgan went with Kyle to the Falcons, where they built one of the league’s best offenses.

Morgan came to the Chicago Bears last year and the franchise immediately began running the ball very well. A lot of that is due to dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields, but the offensive line coach has done very good work with young offensive tackles Teven Jenkins and Darnell Wright.

As you certainly know, Washington could use a coach like that - someone who doesn’t look at every tackle and say “Hmm, let’s make this guy a guar."

There are some videos of Morgan circulating online and he comes off as the exact kind of coach you want to play for. I admit that the head coaching job may be a reach and that I would prefer to hire him as the Commanders' new offensive line coach. But if you can’t get him like that, let him run the whole show with a young stud defensive coordinator sharing the load.

Admittedly, this is way outside the box. But the potential benefits are evident.
