7 Commanders rookies who can help themselves most at 2024 camp

Rookies and coaches report to Ashburn today (Thursday) for training camp. The Washington Commanders welcome veteran players early next week, so these extra few days will be essential for first-year pros as they look to prepare themselves for some significant upcoming challenges.
There is a lot on the line for this rookie class. Adam Peters wants to build through the draft and supplement any remaining needs in free agency moving forward. If the majority of his picks hit the ground running and a few positive surprises emerge along the way, it'll be the strongest foundation imaginable to build a future contender.
All eyes will be on quarterback Jayden Daniels as the new face of the franchise. He's the most integral piece and holds the organization's prospects in the palm of his hands. After that, the others will be jockeying for positions in the hope of carving out roles for themselves.
Football is back and the stakes are high. With that being said, here are seven Commanders rookies who could help themselves most at the team's training camp in 2024.
Luke McCaffrey - Commanders WR
Finding productive pass-catchers for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels was a huge piece of the Washington Commanders' puzzle this offseason. Adam Peters remains confident players like Jahan Dotson and Dyami Brown can benefit from enhanced coaching. Terry McLaurin is the focal point and should thrive once again in 2024. There's also the intriguing presence of Luke McCaffrey to factor into the equation.
McCaffrey's footballing pedigree needs no introduction. The No. 100 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft is looking to carve out his path. There's a lot of hard work ahead given his lack of experience at the wideout spot, but he's already shown a willingness to put in the effort in pursuit of immediate involvement.
The former Rice pass-catcher arrived early every day over offseason workouts with Daniels. They went over film and walked through different offensive concepts being implemented by Kliff Kingsbury. This resulted in a notable rapport between the two - something the Commanders will be hoping continues throughout camp.
If McCaffrey blossoms further in the coming weeks, expect to see the receiver utilized in Kingsbury's passing attack immediately.
