We're getting close to decision time for the Washington Commanders. Adam Peters and Dan Quinn are at the business end of their roster assessments. They'll have a good indication of where things stand and what the initial 53-man squad will look like, but there's still time for some to change the narrative.

Another joint practice is looming - this time it's the Miami Dolphins who'll test their skills against Quinn's outfit. The Commanders need to finish their offseason engagements strongly with increased expectations heading into 2024. This urgency isn't going unnoticed by players and coaches alike.

Some have seen their chances increase exponentially in recent weeks. Others are falling by the wayside and face a significant amount of hard work ahead. Some fall somewhere in between, so a monumental effort is needed to leave no doubt.

With this in mind, here are seven Commanders players with soaring stock entering Preseason Week 2.

Noah Igbinoghene - Commanders CB

While much of the cornerback focus centered on Emmanuel Forbes Jr.'s struggles, another is quietly starting to make noise. Noah Igbinoghene is a former first-round pick who's failed to meet expectations as yet. However, there are signs he's responding well to the teachings of Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt Jr.

Igbinoghene turned in a quality performance at the New York Jets, which is in keeping with reports emanating from training camp practice since his arrival in free agency. Quinn and Whitt bringing him from the Dallas Cowboys represented a big vote of confidence. More importantly, it seems like the Auburn product is eager to repay this faith.

The Washington Commanders need someone from their cornerback unit to step up. Forbes and Michael Davis have displayed inconsistencies, so turning to a more trusted figure is something Quinn and Whitt won't hesitate to do if they feel it can benefit the organization.

If the same trajectory continues for Igbinoghene in the next fortnight, he might be that guy.
