Terry McLaurin - Commanders WR

Terry McLaurin takes the responsibility of being a locker room leader seriously. The Pro Bowl pass-catcher has been a model of consistency despite the carousel of quarterbacks he's had to endure since entering the league. The Washington Commanders also rely on the wide receiver heavily behind the scenes for extra motivation and counsel no matter the situation.

It comes as no surprise to see McLaurin displaying these alpha traits over Washington's training camp. The wideout is a bundle of energy, encouraging those around him and lending his expert advice to younger players. Third-round selection Luke McCaffrey and first-rounder Jayden Daniels are already reaping the rewards.

The former Ohio State star is still moving sharply and coming up with some outstanding plays during drills. McLaurin is the passing game's focal point until further notice - something offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury would be wise to utilize early and often throughout the campaign in pursuit of getting Daniels off on the right foot under center.

McLaurin is a franchise cornerstone beloved by the fanbase. That shows no signs of slowing down based on his production and overall influence at camp so far.

Mike Sainristil - Commanders CB

Rookies normally need a bedding-in period to acclimatize to the NFL's increased demands and overall rigors. Some adapt quicker than expected en route to immediate involvement. Others take a little longer to make the necessary adjustments as part of their ongoing development.

It's hard to ignore the initial momentum generated by Mike Sainristil to begin his professional journey. The Commanders held high hopes for the cornerback after selecting him at No. 50 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He's eager to repay this faith based on an exceptional opening to the team's training camp in 2024.

Sainristil is already the team's starting slot cornerback, making plays against the run and also holding his own in coverage for good measure according to those in attendance. His outstanding communication and confidence are coming across positively, so all signs point to the former Michigan star making his presence felt right out of the gate.

It's early days, but Sainristil's smooth transition and superb performance levels indicate the Commanders have a potential steal on their hands. Getting it done with the real action arrives is the big challenge - something the defensive back accomplished effectively in college and wants to do the same again at the next level.
