Commanders could sign Matt Bushman (TE)

I already wrote about Matt Bushman back in May. This was after the Armani Rogers injury, proposing a trade that would send Rachad Wildgoose to the Kansas City Chiefs for the young tight-end prospect.

Bushman has a decent shot of making the Chiefs roster, possibly supplanting the above-mentioned Blake Bell. If he gets sent to the practice squad again, I think the Washington Commanders and Eric Bieniemy would snatch him up.

He is another big two-way tight end, like Kendall Blanton. But the difference is Bushman has shown flashes of big play potential.

The player has an awkward running style which makes him hard to cover and hard to bring down. He doesn’t look like he’s moving very fast, but somehow, Bushman seems to get open and gain yards.

The sample size is way too small to say this with any certainty. But I would take a chance on a guy who has now been watching the way Travis Kelce goes about his business for a couple of seasons.

It wouldn't cost the Commanders much to find out from a financial standpoint, either.
