Adam Peters turned on the style to leave a notable impression during a dramatic Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft. The general manager put together what can only be described as a masterclass of board manipulation, bringing several outstanding prospects into the Washington Commanders and filling some critical needs along the way.

Peters was the right man to spearhead this ambitious project, there is no question of that. If the Commanders can come out of their Day 3 picks with some rough diamonds, they'll be in an even better position to make the improvements suggested under the exceptional guidance of head coach Dan Quinn.

Watching Peters go about his business with calm and purpose has been a revelation. The Commanders have struggled to draft well in recent years, but he's focused on finding good football players above all else and worrying about the rest later. This was the only correct mindset to adopt considering how things unfolded before he took charge.

Washington has three picks over the remaining rounds unless Peters decides to trade up or down, which cannot be dismissed. With this in mind, here are seven intriguing prospects the Commanders should consider on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Commanders could draft Nathan Thomas

  • Offensive Tackle | Louisiana Rajin' Cajuns

The Washington Commanders ended their long run without selecting an offensive tackle by taking Brandon Coleman out of TCU. Although some analysts believe he'll be best suited to the interior in the pros, those in power would be wise to see if the lineman can bring his exceptional college production as a left tackle to the NFL before deciding on anything more drastic.

Either way, picking up another edge presence wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. The Commanders might take a chance on someone like Nathan Thomas, who's a little flawed technically but represents an absolute mauler in the run game with high-caliber production in this discipline.

Nobody would expect Thomas to come in and start immediately. But if he can refine his footwork and hand placement, there's a good chance he can carve out a decent career for himself in the right set-up.
