Commanders potential bargain: Adam Butler

Trusting Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne to continue carrying the load can work if the Washington Commanders add a quality rotation defensive tackle. Adam Butler fits the bill as a capable pass-rusher who would work well in a situational role.

Butler, who helped the New England Patriots win Super Bowl LVIII, logged five sacks and nine quarterback hits, to go with 10 pressures and four knockdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. He's never going to dominate, but the veteran knows how to impact the pocket.

It's what he did to sack Mac Jones against the Patriots in Week 6.

A short-term, team-friendly deal for Butler would give Joe Whitt Jr. somebody who can take snaps away from Payne and Allen and not be a weak link. Provided Quinn doesn't look to a former Cowboys lineman for the same things.
