Sam Howell needs to keep track of Quincy Williams

There are playmakers behind the New York Jets' awesome defensive line - none better than linebacker Quincy Williams. He's somebody Washington Commanders' quarterback Sam Howell needs to keep track of pre-snap.

Williams can make an impact in every phase of defense. His versatility is evidenced by his two sacks and five pressures on 27 blitzes. He is also allowing just 4.5 yards per target in coverage.

He's also a force against the run. Williams can pursue sideline to sideline at speed and hit for keeps once he gets to the ball.

It's what he did on this run fit against Raheem Mostert last week, highlighted by Nate Tice of The Athletic.

Moving Williams around helps the Jets disguise their pressures and coverages. He's going to test Howell's ability to decipher fronts and alignments and react with the right play call. This is a challenge the struggling quarterback must be ready for.
