5 players who could follow Brian Johnson to the Commanders

Commanders could sign Quez Watkins
There is another Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver who went from a valuable contributor to an afterthought last season. Quez Watkins has flashed moments of encouraging quality - especially during the 2021 campaign. However, some frustrating injuries derailed his progress at a critical stage of his career.
Watkins featured in nine games for the Eagles under Brian Johnson last season, starting five times. He just didn't look like the same player. He was constantly battling confidence and health issues before Philadelphia put him on injured reserve in November.
The Eagles have $20 million in available cap space and several key free agents to extend. There won't be enough money to keep everyone happy - there never is - so Watkins might be seeking alternative employment in the coming weeks looking at how things currently stand.
His familiarity with Johnson might see him become a target for the Washington Commanders. This is dependent on the player's injury status and how much money his representatives are demanding. If everything checks out, he looks like someone who could perhaps become a factor in Kliff Kingsbury's offensive scheme.
Much like the situation with Olamide Zaccheaus, the Commanders shouldn't expect miracles from Watkins. But that's not to say he couldn't become a decent rotational option capable of stretching the field in this scenario.
