5 high-risk free agents Commanders could sign before the 2024 NFL Draft

Commanders could sign Emmanuel Ogbah
The Washington Commanders added to their pass-rush quickly as expected once free agency began. Dan Quinn turned to two of his old players - Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler Jr. - to provide immediate assistance. Those in power also secured the services of Clelin Ferrell, who Adam Peters knows well from their time together on the San Francisco 49ers last season.
Much will depend on K.J. Henry's development, but adding another capable performer via the draft or free agency is a must looking at how things stand currently. Going down the college route might be the preferred choice given the cheap long-term upside, but Emmanuel Ogbah is a high-risk candidate who could provide a different dimension.
Ogbah became a salary-cap sacrifice by the Miami Dolphins this offseason to nobody's surprise. The edge rusher has proven production under his belt but was relegated to a rotational presence last season. The Nigerian Nightmare also missed 10 games over the last two campaigns through injury to further raise concerns.
At the peak of his powers, Ogbah was a dominant edge rusher with added experience of playing from the interior. It's a little surprising to see him sitting on the market without employment currently, but the Commanders should examine this in greater detail if everything checks out medically.
