Dan Quinn and his staff have a good lay of the land by now. The Washington Commanders are two weeks into their training camp with intensity growing. Some plans are taking shape while others are still hanging in the balance.

There's a sense of nervous excitement among the fanbase about the Commanders' hopes for growth in 2024. Quinn's left a positive early impression and the roster has the right blend of youth and experience. But this long-suffering support has been burned plenty of times by offseason expectations that end up having no substance attached.

The Commanders have re-established their status as a serious football operation behind the scenes thanks to Josh Harris' ambition and Adam Peters' professional, aggressive approach. If Quinn can figure things out on the coaching side, it won't take much longer for this once-proud organization to get back on its feet.

To complete this challenge, the Commanders must first solve these five emerging conundrums from 2024 training camp.

Commanders skill positions

The Washington Commanders have a big conundrum in their offensive skill positions. This isn't so much to do with the lack of quality, but rather which players will go through onto the 53-man roster with so many making a name for themselves over the first two weeks of training camp.

Some roster locks will play significant roles. Others will make the team but their influence could go either way. Some further down the pecking order are doing their chances of involvement no harm at all.

Watching how things unfold during the preseason can make a nig difference for some. The wide receiver and tight end depth spots have the scope to go multiple ways. Chris Rodriguez Jr.'s status as the No. 3 running back is not set in stone by any stretch. There are a lot of moving parts to keep fans engaged throughout Washington's slate of warmup contests.

They've laid down a marker, but what comes next is even more vital.
