Jayden Daniels' poise

It can be easy for rookies to get overawed. This is a steep step up in class and the need to hit the ground running is evident. This bears more significance for quarterback Jayden Daniels as the team's next great hope under center.

Daniels gained plenty of experience in college and ascended with every passing year. This allowed the signal-caller to become poised on and off the field, keeping the same mindset whether things are going good or bad. That's another major positive to take away from his first training camp with the Washington Commanders.

The Cajon High School product has a tremendous ability to move on from one play to the next regardless of how it turns out. Daniels is composed, calculated, and has a natural aura that teammates gravitate towards. Something that allows him to manipulate the pocket and remain focused downfield when pressure arrives.

Washington's carousel of quarterbacks didn't have much composure attached to their respective performance levels. Daniels is here to change all that and the early signs couldn't be more positive.

Jayden Daniels' work ethic

Veteran players who've been around the NFL for a long time can sniff out rookies who won't make it from a mile away. Jayden Daniels coming into the franchise with arrogance, entitlement, or an unwillingness to put in the hard yards wouldn't have been well received. Not when the Commanders made such a significant investment in the first-round pick.

Thankfully, his approach was the exact opposite. Daniels set the tone immediately, displaying an exceptional work ethic and doing everything possible to pick things up in double quick time. He was the first into the building each day and often the first player onto the practice field for the start of camp practice. This didn't go unnoticed by those going to battle with the promising signal-caller.

Daniels received widespread plaudits from coaches for his approach. He won the respect of veteran teammates by getting his head down and working. Letting everything come to him rather than forcing the issue is having the desired effect.

Winning over established figures within the locker room was arguably Daniels' biggest challenge. It's one he passed with flying colors. Everyone is on board and believes this is the quarterback capable of kickstarting an exciting new era.
