Jayden Daniels gains 70+ yards rushing

There's been less emphasis on Jayden Daniels running the football over the last two games. It's still a huge part of his output, but the Washington Commanders are preaching the importance of picking his spots and emerging as a passer in the pocket more than anything else.

Daniels is a passing quarterback who can run, not a running quarterback who can pass when the situation dictates. He's coming up against a similar presence under center this weekend in Kyler Murray - a player capable of taking over any game if afforded enough space to do damage. The former LSU star must match him every step of the way.

There will be times when Daniels needs to rely on his legs in this one. The Arizona Cardinals won't have standout defensive lineman Justin Jones thanks to a season-ending torn bicep, but former first-round pick Zaven Collins is a danger Washington must take seriously.

If Daniels can capitalize on every rushing opportunity and get himself over 70 yards, that will help. This bears more significance when one considers veteran running back Austin Ekeler has already been ruled out with a concussion.

Jayden Daniels leads another game-winning drive

This might not be that bold considering how Jayden Daniels has flourished in critical moments so far. The signal-caller continues to prove that all he needs is a chance to come through in clutch situations. Washington provided that over the last two games and he's delivered in no uncertain terms.

Providing the Commanders' defense can make improvements, which is no guarantee by any stretch of the imagination, Daniels should have an opportunity to make another statement on the road. And there would be supreme confidence in the Heisman Trophy winner coming through for his team once again.

If Daniels can get the Commanders to another victory on their travels, the hype train will reach warp speed where the dual-threat weapon is concerned. Keeping an even keel amid so much adulation is imperative. Fortunately for the player and the organization, they have a strong support system in place that should keep their franchise player focused on the next game, the next play, and nothing more.

The Commanders have something special on their hands with Daniels. It won't be easy, but there's nothing to suggest he cannot continue his fast track to superstardom versus the Cardinals in Week 4.
