Commanders OL makes major improvements

This is one of the biggest question marks of the season, which is only natural seeing as the Washington Commanders' offensive line became the primary weak spot once again last year

It needed the most work this offseason. Adam Peters did a nice job of finding two potential starters in free agency and removed some deadwood for good measure, but it's just the start. If additional reinforcements arrive via the draft and this group can get it together, then Washington's rookie quarterback should be able to showcase their skills en route to becoming the franchise-caliber presence under center fans have craved.

Having already made a few changes, the Commanders seem to be on the right path. Upon using the No. 2 overall pick on a quarterback, one can only figure that attention will then turn to the offensive line or receiving core. With enough valuable picks in the first three rounds, Washington has room to miss on an offensive lineman and still manage to find a starter or two down the order.

If the new offensive line under play-caller Kliff Kingsbury can crack the top half of the league in terms of pass protection, the Commanders should have enough to compete in the division. If they can draft well and find a franchise left tackle, this offense can become good if given time to develop.

Along with Washington's pivotal upcoming quarterback conundrum, the offensive line remains the Commanders' biggest need and mystery. They have a plethora of selections in the second and third rounds to get it right. Peters might also consider trading back into Round No. 1 in pursuit of landing a marquee prospect who might be dropping further than originally anticipated.

If that happens, it's clear that the Commanders want to make their presence felt right away. A solid offensive line will go a long way to achieving this feat.
