4 moves the Commanders must consider after Charles Leno Jr. restructure

Commanders could sign Kyle Van Noy
If there was one weakness surrounding the Washington Commanders' defense after Week 1, it's their options at the second level. Jamin Davis aside, this is a group desperately short of reliable options and something that could have a detrimental impact on the team's chances once they come up against high-class opposition.
Cody Barton looked sluggish and his positional importance left a lot to be desired. Khaleke Hudson wasn't given one defensive snap, which did represent a surprise when one considers how well he performed throughout the summer.
If the Commanders examine the tape and decide more is needed, then giving Kyle Van Noy wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. The two-time Super Bowl champion is a versatile linebacker who can operate anywhere along the second level with minimal fuss, which is the sort of positional versatility Ron Rivera loves in his players.
Van Noy played well enough for the Los Angeles Chargers last season without doing enough for an extended stay. Based on his production and leadership within the locker room, one could argue he'd be more of an asset than anyone in Washington's linebacking corps apart from Davis currently.
Whether this is something the Commanders contemplate is another matter. Van Noy stated recently he wants to play, so he'd probably welcome the chance to join such an imposing defense and help in some capacity.
