Chase Young/Montez Sweat vs. Commanders OTs

Having Chase Young back healthy gives the Washington Commanders' defensive front an added spice. Things could go either way for the edge rusher given his current career trajectory, but motivation shouldn't be an issue with doubts aplenty across the media and the fact he didn't get his fifth-year option picked up by the organization.

Young looked explosive during early workouts, which is encouraging. The next big step for the former Ohio State standout is being disruptive and consistent when the pads start clapping at training camp.

The Commanders will be watching Young's production and health closely throughout camp. They have fewer qualms about Montez Sweat, who is also in a contract year but has far more consistency and reliability associated with his NFL journey so far.

It'll be interesting to see how the pass-rushing duo fare against the veteran tackle tandem of Charles Leno Jr. and free-agent signing Andrew Wylie. The offensive line must make strides after another lackluster campaign in 2022, but it won't take long for things to start crumbling if their edge protectors fail to provide the assurance needed.

Wylie could be in for a baptism of fire all things considered. Leno is a little more accomplished, but there are some serious questions about Saahdiq Charles alongside him at left guard that might jeopardize his own performance levels along the way.
