Emmanuel Forbes - Commanders CB

  • Over 2.5 interceptions at +110

While some fans were skeptical of the Washington Commanders' first-round selection back in April, almost all fans are in agreement with Emmanuel Forbes now. The lanky ball-hawk has consistently proven he can already go toe-to-toe with the best receivers in the game, making plays against Terry McClaurin in training camp and showing out versus Odell Beckham Jr. during joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens.

Forbes wasn’t tested much in the passing game during preseason other than a play he would have liked to have back against explosive rookie Zay Flowers, where he overcommitted, slipped, and got burned for a solid pickup. Still, the former Mississippi State star silenced any critics doubting his ability to tackle due to his skinnier frame, coming up with a few massive plays in critical moments.

Ron Rivera and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio specifically targeted Forbes for his playmaking ability. Despite Washington’s success on defense in 2022, the Commanders only recorded nine interceptions on the season.

Over his three years in college, the 22-year-old forced 14 takeaways while tying the FBS record with six pick-sixes over his career.

It’s clear the coaching staff believes Forbes is ready to start Week 1. While there will be a few hiccups along the way, I’m confident he will end the year with at least three picks and I predict at least one of those will go to the house.

I’ll gladly put down $100 for a $210 return.

There are a few other tempting selections if you look at the “team specials” for the Commanders, but these four felt too good to pass up. Happy betting, everyone.
