Commanders CB Emmanuel Forbes was everywhere

The Washington Commanders have a special player on their hands in Emmanuel Forbes. It didn't take long for the cornerback to display why Ron Rivera was so high on his potential coming out of Mississippi State, producing the goods over early workouts and taking this exceptional form into training camp with a series of top-level efforts.

Forbes' ball-hawk credentials were there for all to witness during the final public training camp session. The No. 16 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft was absolutely everywhere, adding two more takeaways to his collection to further increase intrigue about how impactful he can become right out of the gate next season.

There have been very few flaws in Forbes' production. Going up against Washington's outstanding wide receiver group led by Terry McLaurin has done wonders for his overall development and the pre-draft concerns regarding the defensive back's slender frame have proved unfounded up to now.

The ceiling remains enormously high with Forbes. He's got that swagger normally associated with elite-level cornerbacks and all his big talk is backed up between the white lines.

If Forbes can ignite the secondary into creating more turnovers, he could be the missing piece of Washington's defensive puzzle. Something that would give them a good shot at becoming the league's No. 1 unit in 2023.
