Which Washington Commanders players are under pressure to perform during their Preseason Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens?

There seems to be some real momentum building around the Washington Commanders right now. New ownership has a lot to do with it, but an impressive preseason win against the Cleveland Browns coupled with two outstanding sessions versus the Baltimore Ravens have everyone believing anything is possible next season.

If head coach Ron Rivera is feeling the pressure, he isn't showing it publicly. In fact, the head coach is currently thriving after finally getting the opportunity to focus on football and nothing else - energy that is trickling down to the players in a positive manner.

Rivera and his staff will have drawn plenty of conclusions from the preseason so far. But there is still time for some players to prove their worth before the time for final cuts arrives.

With this in mind, here are four Commanders players under pressure to perform against the Ravens on Monday Night Football.

Rachad Wildgoose - Commanders CB

With Danny Johnson set to miss time after suffering an injury during his altercation with Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, an opportunity has arisen for another cornerback to make their presence felt. Rachad Wildgoose should see more in the way of reps on Monday evening at FedEx Field, which could make a huge difference in his quest for prominent involvement.

Wildgoose performed well when called upon last season and proved to be a valuable asset in the slot. However, the Commanders drafted Emmanuel Forbes and Quan Martin over the first two rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft, which pushes the defensive back further down the pecking order than ever before.

Couple this with the emergence of Christian Holmes over the last fortnight, and it's not hard to see why Wildgoose's status is a precarious one.
