4 Commanders players we can safely call busts after the 2023 season

Saahdiq Charles - Commanders OL
Another college offensive tackle who was slotted inside by former head coach Ron Rivera, there was more promise about Saahdiq Charles than most coming out of LSU. He was a physically-dominant, athletic specimen. This was an area of significant need for the Washington Commanders when the lineman was taken No. 108 overall in 2020.
There have been some nice moments from Charles. Overall, his performance levels haven't met the required standard. With the player out of contract and a new regime coming into the fold, his time in Washington could be coming to an end.
Charles didn't have the best of luck with injuries. There were constant calf issues. Hopes were high that a potential breakout campaign could be possible after he beat out Chris Paul for the starting left guard job during training camp. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
The interior protector turned out in 643 snaps on offense last season. Charles gave up four sacks and conceded three penalties en route to a modest 55.5 grade from Pro Football Focus. The player had countless chances to firmly establish himself and failed every time. It's time for the Commanders to cut their losses and seek an alternative.
Had Charles put a consistent run of games together, things might have been different. As it turned out, this was another swing and a miss on the offensive line under Rivera's leadership.
