Emmanuel Forbes - Commanders CB

Emmanuel Forbes left a hugely positive impression during the Washington Commanders' rookie minicamp earlier this month. Something that only whets the appetite further about what the gifted cornerback could bring to Jack Del Rio's defense right out of the gate next season.

Forbes was a surprising pick according to many at No. 16 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. But it's clear this was a player Wasington's brass focused their attention on early in their pre-draft process and struck with conviction when he was there for the taking.

The former Mississippi State standout is the definition of a ballhawk presence in the secondary. Forbes creates chances into turnovers at will and is a threat to score anytime he gets into some open space for good measure.

This will be more difficult at the next level, there's no getting away from that. However, Forbes is about to get a stern test of his credentials at OTAs going up against the formidable trio of Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, and Jahan Dotson.

If Forbes can hold his own and impose himself versus three prolific NFL-caliber pass-catchers, there's just no telling what the defensive back might be able to accomplish in Year 1 of his professional career.
