Jake Fromm - Commanders QB

When Jake Fromm was signed to the practice squad last season, no one knew what was going to be expected of him with the quarterback position uncertain. And with the Washington Commanders signing Jacoby Brissett to backup Sam Howell, one wondered what would happen to the Georgia product and if he had a chance to make the team.

Could the Commanders keep all three quarterbacks? Fromm sure made it hard for the coaching staff to make that decision after an outstanding performance in their preseason finale.

Fromm made the most of his opportunity against the Bengals. He looked comfortable within Eric Bieniemy's offense, going 13-of-18 for 144 passing yards and two touchdowns.

For a player who is on his third team in as many years, I'm sure finally finding a home on a team would mean the world to him. Fromm made some great plays and outperformed the more seasoned Brissett, who did have one touchdown pass but seemed to play very slowly in some moments in the game.

How will Ron Rivera and his staff evaluate the quarterback position in the next few days is uncertain. But there's no doubt Fromm has done his fair share to gain their attention throughout the best summer of his pro career.
