Emmanuel Forbes - Commanders CB

Emmanuel Forbes is a confident guy. The cornerback hasn't let concerns about his size define him over a prolific college career en route to becoming the No. 16 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, which brings its own set of expectations as the Washington Commanders seek an immediate return on their investment.

Forbes caught the Commanders' eye thanks to his supreme ballhawk capabilities. Something that's been on full display since joining the team with two interceptions in an offense-friendly setting.

There are going to be some growing pains. This isn't uncommon for first-year cornerbacks looking to carve out a successful NFL career for themselves.

Forbes got worked on a couple of occasions by Terry McLaurin. But even the top-end defensive backs suffer the same fate and going up against Pro Bowl-caliber pass-catchers is going to do wonders for his transition.

The former Mississippi State standout is off to a good start. Washington used Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste as their starting cornerback tandem to begin OTAs, but it won't be long before Forbes pushes his way up the depth chart.
