Jonathan Allen - Commanders DT

Jonathan Allen is the highest-earning player on the Washington Commanders by a considerable margin. The veteran defensive tackle counts $21.44 million against the team's salary cap in 2023, which means he's held to a higher standard than most.

Sadly for the former first-round pick out of Alabama, the performances haven't been up to the required standard through 10 games. Allen's had some nice moments, but they've been fleeting and certainly not in keeping with what fans expected from the lineman before the campaign.

Allen's cut a frustrated figure during interviews this season. He's tired of all the excuses and wants the Commanders to start realizing their potential, but the interior presence also needs to acknowledge that his lack of consistency must also be held accountable.

The New York Giants are going through complications on their offensive line. They also have an unproven quarterback under center, so Week 11 represents a good chance for Allen to make a statement and remind the world why the Commanders paid him so much in the first place.

When the Commanders traded Montez Sweat and Chase Young before the deadline, it was a sign of confidence that their two stud defensive tackles could pick up the slack. Something Allen needs to accomplish this weekend by wreaking havoc on passing downs and ensuring Saquon Barkley gets no joy running the football in his direction.
