Brian Robinson Jr. - Commanders RB

Brian Robinson Jr. might be a strange choice considering the Washington Commanders signed Austin Ekeler in free agency. However, this could be one of the best things for the promising running back when one looks more in-depth into the situation.

Ekeler wasn't just looking for anything when the Los Angeles Chargers deemed him surplus to requirements. He wanted to find a team with another dynamic young force capable of shouldering the load. Couple this with the presence of his former head coach Anthony Lynn on the staff, and picking the Washington Commanders was a win-win for all parties.

This shouldn't make Robinson feel threatened in any way. He demonstrated enough last season to suggest he can be the team's lead-back. Having someone with Ekeler's experience and red-zone ability is merely a bonus for the running back room.

The Commanders now have a potentially prolific backfield tandem to go alongside their rookie quarterback, whoever that might be. Kliff Kingsbury's already made his intentions clear when it comes to deploying a more balanced offensive scheme. Having a one-two punch of Ekeler and Robinson to call upon will allow the play-caller to put these plans into action.

Not only this, but the added knowledge Robinson can acquire from one of the most productive dual-threat weapons of the modern era can only help take his game to new heights. The former Alabama star would be wise to soak everything up from Ekeler in pursuit of achieving similar feats in the coming years.
