Commanders WR Jahan Dotson gains 80+ yards

Much of the talk this week has been centered on wide receiver Jahan Dotson's indifferent opening to the campaign. Big things were expected of the wide receiver entering Year 2 of his professional career with an improved play-caller in Eric Bieniemy, but it's been a letdown so far.

Dotson dropped another potentially big gain at the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 from his only target. While there are some sections of the fanbase starting to criticize the former first-round pick, confidence in the building remains high about further improvements in the near future.

There are far too many exceptional traits associated with Dotson for him to be this flat. So what better time to reannounce himself on the NFL stage than against divisional opposition on the road?

If the Washington Commanders can get some easy looks for Dotson early, that'll help enormously. It'll also open up the field as the game progresses and could even create extra space for others to do damage.

The Penn State product hasn't eclipsed 40 receiving yards this season as yet. If Dotson can gain 80 yards or more at the New York Giants, it'll be a positive step in the right direction.

Whether it's something Dotson and the Commanders can accomplish given how things are currently unfolding remains to be seen.
