Bold predictions for the Washington Commanders as they go in search a fourth victory in 2023 at the New York Giants in Week 7.

Once again, there is plenty at stake for the Washington Commanders in Week 7. If they are to stand any hope of entering the wild card discussion over the second half of 2023, these are the games Ron Rivera's men must win.

Divisional clashes are often tricky to predict. However, the New York Giants are 1-5 for a reason, so nothing less than a victory will suffice for a Commanders team that can build some decent momentum over the next few weeks looking at their schedule.

Rivera has been quick to ensure complacency won't become an issue this week. The Commanders have the talent to dispose of New York if everyone performs to the level expected, but we've seen more than once this season how quickly things can unravel if they start poorly.

Hopefully, that won't be the case. Looking ahead, here are four bold predictions for Washington's latest challenge at MetLife Stadium.

Commanders hold Saquon Barkley to 3 YPC

With quarterback Daniel Jones listed as questionable and unlikely to feature according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, there will be more onus than ever on stopping Saquon Barkley. The running back is a prolific performer who can put up huge numbers if afforded enough momentum, which is something that Washington Commanders cannot afford in Week 7.

Although the run defense has been suspect overall, there were definite signs of life at the Atlanta Falcons. It was a small step forward, but much more is required going up against the former first-round selection out of Penn State.

Barkley is likely going to get a heavy volume of touches in this one. If the Commanders' defense can hold him to three yeards-per-carry or better, they'll have a great chance to emerge victorious.
