What are the biggest questions remaining for the Washington Commanders as they get set for their Week 1 opener versus the Arizona Cardinals?

Now that roster cutdown day has come and gone, the Washington Commanders have their sites set firmly on the Arizona Cardinals. Despite coming off a 3-0 preseason, and being currently favored by more than a touchdown in the opener, there are still several unknowns about this team.

The most encouraging thing is that Washington's starting quarterback is not one of them. That makes a refreshing change after all the turmoil at the position in recent years.

To be clear, Sam Howell has done nothing of note yet as a professional football player. Therefore, it is ludicrous to assume he will not struggle at times this season.

But whereas this was far and away the biggest question mark just one month ago, Howell's solid play during preseason has at least temporarily put this question to rest. For now, anyway.

This is Howell’s team. Until the former fifth-round pick shows he is not up to the task, it will remain that way.

So, what are the biggest remaining questions about the Commanders as they begin the 2023 season? Here are four things to keep an eye on over the first few weeks.
