Commanders could sign Bobby Wagner

Dan Quinn will know more is needed at the linebacking positions heading into his first season at the Washington Commanders' coaching helm. The defensive second level was largely ignored by Ron Rivera to his detriment. With Jamin Davis also set to enter a contract season if his fifth-year option isn't triggered, expect to see a few new faces by the time OTAs arrive.

If Quinn wants to hit the ground running, it might be worth bringing in a familiar face to assist with an important transition. Bobby Wagner might not be the dominant force of old, but he's performing at an extremely high level. His phenomenal 183 tackles in 2023 were a career-high, which resulted in his ninth Pro Bowl selection for the Super Bowl champion.

Wagner appears to have a couple of good years left. His experience would be invaluable to the Commanders if they went in this direction. It might be a short-term solution, but the former second-round pick out of Utah State would instantly upgrade Washington's second-level defensive interior and in terms of on-field communication.

He's played under Quinn previously during their time together on the Seattle Seahawks. The All-Decade player might relish the chance to link up with the coach again and join a storied franchise looking to make significant strides next season.
