3 things Ron Rivera must prove to new Commanders ownership group

Ron Rivera must prove his adaptability
When Ron Rivera agreed to join the Washington Commanders, it was on the premise he'd also get the final say in personnel decisions. A bold move at the time, but Dan Snyder agreed to it as he looked to change the culture.
This has come with mixed success. Some moves have worked out better than others, which also stands true regarding fortunes on the field over his three-year spell in Washington.
With a sale imminent and Josh Harris' group taking charge, the status quo is unlikely to remain. If this means moving to a more traditional method of success between the general manager and head coach, so be it.
Rivera must be adaptable to every suggestion. If he is unwilling to accept certain changes to how things are being run, then Harris and his numerous stakeholders will find someone who is.
This is a precarious situation for Rivera, whose regular-season record as a head coach isn't exactly world-beating. He's held in high regard around the league, but it's hard to envisage a scenario where another head coaching gig would just fall into his lap like the one presented to him in Washington.
Nobody knows for sure what is going to unfold between Rivera and the new owners. But it would be a bombshell of epic proportions if he didn't get another year at this stage of the offseason.
