3 overlooked observations from Commanders' early offseason workouts in 2023

Kamren Curl knows his worth to Commanders
There are some contract issues upcoming for the Washington Commanders. The defensive end duo of Montez Sweat and Chase Young are taking up most column inches, but other core pieces are also looking for long-term financial security at some stage.
Ron Rivera stated recently that everything is on hold regarding contracts until the Josh Harris group formally takes over the franchise. This is doing nothing to appease the players involved, although it's a unique situation that those affected should take into consideration before doing anything drastic.
Kamren Curl falls into this category after significantly outplaying his seventh-round rookie contract. The gifted safety is among the league's most dynamic young stars at the position and wants to be paid accordingly, which is something the Commanders should give the green light on when permitted later this summer.
Until then, the former Arkansas stud is leaving absolutely nothing to chance. While he's been doing individual drills, Curl has kept risks to a minimum by watching the team activities from the sidelines, which minimizes the risk of injury and doesn't jeopardize the lucrative deal coming his way.
This is something to monitor when camp begins rather than overlooking it to a certain extent during early off-season workouts. Curl was around his teammates - which cannot be said of others in a similar predicament around the league - and there's also a chance Washington gets the sale approved and works out a new deal before activities in Ashburn commence.
