Benjamin St-Juste - Commanders CB

When one examines the wreckage of yet another losing season for the Washington Commanders under head coach Ron Rivera, the number of explosive plays allowed on defense will be an undoubted catalyst behind their demise. This was once again evident at the Dallas Cowboys, with in-form quarterback Dak Prescott getting the football downfield almost at will from a clean pocket to wide receivers who had absolutely no problem creating separation consistently.

There wasn't much celebrating being done by Benjamin St-Juste. The cornerback was torched almost from start to finish no matter who he lined up against. CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Brandin Cooks all had their way with the former third-round selection during a torrid afternoon at the office.

Fans have been patient with St-Juste, but it's clear for all to see he isn't a starting-caliber NFL cornerback. This scenario represents one of disappointment considering the high hopes many had for the player before competitive games commenced.

The Commanders need to get Emmanuel Forbes heavily involved with nothing much to play for other than pride. If he gets burned constantly, so be it, but they need to find out what the rookie could potentially bring to the table long-term.

If that also means benching St-Juste, he can have no complaints. Flashing quality was never going to cut it this time around and the consistency needed to start versus some high-caliber wideouts within the NFC East just isn't there.
