3. Tress Way - Commanders P

Punters do not get a lot of recognition in general, but Tress Way has been one of the best in the NFC, let alone the entire league for the past few seasons. And he has two Pro Bowls to show for it, including last year.

With the Washington Commanders' offense being stagnant at times, Way had the fifth most punts in the league (83). However, he made the most of these, tying for the second most within the 20-yard mark (37), and only having five punts go for a touchback.

Given how many punts Way had last season, the opposition was only able to return 212 yards. Every other punter with 80-plus punts had 20-plus return yards and more.

With the volume of punting Way had to do for the Commanders last season, he was able to put the team in the best positions most of the time given the situation. Something that only cemented his importance heading into the 2023 campaign.

Allegedly, Way is rated 79 overall in the new Madden, whereas at the reveal of Madden 23, he was 82 overall.

Obviously, punters and kickers are not typically rated too high in the newer Maddens. But Way should be in a much higher bracket after another consistent year.
