Which Washington Commanders stand to benefit most from the team's varied selections during the 2023 NFL Draft?

Now that the Washington Commanders have finalized their 2023 NFL Draft class, the next important step is integrating them into the team's plans. It promises to be a trial by fire as they fully adjust to a higher standard of football, but the outstanding coaches in place should ensure their respective transitions go according to plan.

Not every pick will work out, that's just the nature of the business. But if the Commanders can hit on the large majority, it will do their chances of surprising people an untold amount of good.

Just how hopeful Commanders fans should be ahead of the new campaign is anyone's guess. The Philadelphia Eagles look like the NFC favorite once again, but there is enough talent across the board to suggest a wildcard berth is well within the team's capabilities.

With that being said, here are three Commanders who stand to benefit most from the team's 2023 NFL Draft picks.

This might sound strange for a fringe guy of which little is expected, but the arrival of sixth-round selection Chris Rodriguez Jr. should provide Jaret Patterson with all the extra motivation needed ahead of a pivotal preparation period.

The running back came in and out of the practice squad last season after flashing as a rookie. Patterson got a one-year extension as a result of his efforts, but the margin for error is incredibly slim thanks to Rodriguez's presence.

It's been a rocky road for Patterson since flashing as a rookie. But having additional competition for the No. 3 spot could be exactly what the player needs to make urgent improvements.
