3 bold predictions for the Commanders at Eagles in Week 4
By Dean Jones
Commanders QB Sam Howell throws 3 touchdowns
This will be the most intimidating atmosphere Sam Howell has experienced since becoming an NFL professional. The quarterback coped well with similar surroundings at the Denver Broncos during a stunning comeback victory in Week 2, but the Philadelphia Eagles fanbase is rabid and has no trouble throwing every insult under the sun toward the opposition in the hope of giving their beloved team an advantage.
Howell's been calm and collected this week in front of the media despite his lackluster showing in Week 3. He'll need all this and more versus a stout Eagles defensive front, so protecting the football and being efficient is the only way the former fifth-round selection is going to bounce back.
Taking calculated risks, knowing when to get rid of the football when things aren't developing, and trusting his teammates to make plays would be the smart way to go for Howell. It's also vital that Eric Bieniemy schemes things up to make things as easy as humanly possible for the North Carolina product over the opening exchanges.
Throwing for three touchdowns wouldn't seem like much to many quarterbacks. However, the Eagles' defense is nothing short of relentless, so Howell attaining this feat would be considered a major accomplishment all things considered.
More importantly, Howell cannot give away turnovers. Because make no mistake, this Philadelphia defense will capitalize on even the slightest error.
