3 bold Commanders predictions at the LA Rams in Week 15
By Dean Jones
Bold predictions for the Washington Commanders as they go in search of a post-bye week road success against the Los Angeles Rams.
After having the best part of two weeks to rest and recuperate, it'll be interesting to see how the Washington Commanders approach the final four games of 2023. These are likely going to be the last outings of Ron Rivera's head coaching tenure, so he'll be expecting his players to fight right until the end before he's deemed surplus to requirements.
Sunday's opponents - the Los Angeles Rams - have much more to play for other than pride. Sean McVay's men remain deep in the playoff picture after a surprisingly decent campaign. This leaves the Commanders playing the role of spoiler during their trip to the California sunshine.
While it would be easy for most to go through the motions, it's also worth remembering the Commanders are about to embark on wholesale changes. With new coaches and front office figures come different ideas and evaluations. Something that leaves very few feeling secure about their respective futures beyond the current campaign.
Looking ahead, here are three bold Commanders predictions for Week 15 at SoFi Stadium.
Commanders hold Aaron Donald sackless
All signs point to stud defensive lineman Aaron Donald taking the field despite being a late addition to the injury report on Saturday. His mere presence on the field is enough to alter game plans. Something that is currently filling every Washington Commanders fan with complete dread due to their woeful offensive line.
Donald might be showing signs of slowing down this season, but no team should ignore his potential to wreck a game when in the mood. The Commanders could be throwing the football a lot in pursuit of keeping up with the Los Angeles Rams. Containing the perennial All-Pro is of critical importance.
If the much-maligned protection in front of quarterback Sam Howell holds Donald sackless this afternoon, it might be their finest collective accomplishment of the campaign.
