Jayden Daniels showed signs of life during the fourth quarter in Week 1. It wasn't enough to get a victory, but the Washington Commanders quarterback looked like the player everyone expected after being out of action for so long.
Fans were also anticipating a much more productive afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, disaster may have struck for Daniels with time running out in the first half.
With the Commanders going for a fourth-down touchdown with time almost expiring, Daniels stood on one of the offensive linemen — either Nick Allegretti or Chris Paul — and stumbled after the snap. Trying to get the play off, the signal-caller fell awkwardly, and it looked like he injured the same elbow he dislocated last season.
When FOX analyst Tom Brady fired off an expletive upon seeing the replay, it spoke volumes. This was a disaster of epic proportions, and it could be an anxious wait before news gets confirmed one way or another.

Jayden Daniels hasn't gone to hospital
Tom Rinaldi stated that Jayden Daniels was still at the stadium following X-rays. There is no definitive information available on the problem after tests, but he was at least still in the building. Whether that's a positive or not remains to be seen, but not going to the hospital immediately could be seen as a positive amid the doom and gloom.

Unsurprisingly, Jayden Daniels was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. Nobody was expecting anything less, but this is just the start of Washington's problems.
Jayden Daniels getting X-rays
Tom Rinaldi of FOX Sports, who was working the sideline, revealed that Jayden Daniels was getting X-rays on the elbow injury. However, the signal-caller was clearly emotional, and the players were all visibly dejected coming out of the locker room to begin the second half.
It sucked the life out of the entire building. Dan Quinn tried to rally his troops, but it's obviously difficut.
Video replays were not kind to Jayden Daniels
Any fans looking for comfort from the replay of Jayden Daniels' injury were out of luck. It was gruesome (if you haven't watched it, don't), showing a clear pop in the left elbow he dislocated last year against the Seattle Seahawks.
Tom Brady wasn't expecting to see that, and his reaction echoed the sentiments of every Commanders fan at AT&T Stadium and watching from their homes.

Jayden Daniels was down, and the concern was immediate. Players all took a knee beside him, and after lengthy treatment, the quarterback was carted off the turf with a towel over his head.
Further information was not readily available. But the towel on the head is never a good sign. And if the prognosis is as bad as everyone fears, the Commanders' race may already be run this season.
