The Washington Commanders resume their historic rivalry with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11. This always comes with an extra sense of excitement. But this time around, there is a big fight feeling to the divisional clash.

This is taking center stage on Thursday Night Football. The primetime spotlight is always an occasion to savor. It's also something the Commanders handled impeccably well earlier this season when they secured a landmark road victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

There's the small matter of NFC East bragging rights and top spot at stake. The Eagles moved back to the summit after Washington's narrow loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Dan Quinn's men dig deep to get one over on their long-time adversaries, they'd unseat them at the first time of asking.

This is going to be a tough test for the Commanders. They are dealing with some injury issues with kicker Austin Seibert and recently acquired cornerback Marshon Lattimore both missing for the second-straight contest. The offensive tackle trio of Andrew Wylie, Cornelius Lucas, and rookie third-rounder Brandon Coleman are questionable.

A monumental effort is needed from all involved. If they could achieve a memorable triumph in a notoriously hostile atmosphere, it would go a long way to cementing their playoff aspirations with some easier games in the coming weeks.

Commanders vs. Eagles game details

  • Date: Thursday, November 14
  • Time: 8.15 p.m. ET
  • Venue: Lincoln Financial Field

There have been 180 games played in this storied rivalry between the Commanders and Eagles. Washington holds a slight advantage with 89 wins compared to Philadelphia's 85. There have been six ties according to statistics.

The Commanders did not fare too well against the Eagles during Ron Rivera's final season in 2023. They ran them close, there's no getting away from that, but it didn't amount to anything more than two defeats.

There are also much higher stakes attached to this contest. According to Zach Berman from PHLY, this is the first time the two clubs have squared off when both are one game or more above .500 since November 26, 2000.
