Noah Brown had one of the league's most memorable moments in 2024. The Washington Commanders are hoping there is plenty more to give after giving the wide receiver another short-term deal.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Commanders have re-signed Brown to a one-year deal that could be worth $4.5 million. This is far more than the physical pass-catcher cost last season and represents a supreme vote of confidence after his campaign ended on a sour note.

Commanders provide Noah Brown with deserved security despite injury-hit 2024 season

Brown was snapped up quickly by the Commanders after being released by the Houston Texans. The former seventh-round pick gradually emerged as the team's No. 2 receiving option behind Terry McLaurin. His wide wing span and ability to stretch the field offered something different. More importantly, he gradually earned the trust of quarterback sensation Jayden Daniels.

Momentum was building for Brown even before he caught the Hail Mary miracle to beat the Chicago Bears, which propelled Washington to another level and sent the NFC North club into freefall. Unfortunately, this came to an abrupt halt after a serious internal issue ended his campaign ahead of time.

That was disappointing. But the Commanders believe he's got more left in the tank.

Brown is expected to make a full recovery. The financial commitment allocated by the Commanders seems to suggest this is the likely scenario. Another big opportunity awaits the Ohio State product, especially considering Peters has already bolstered the wideout room with a marquee addition.

With Deebo Samuel Sr. joining via trade from the San Francisco 49ers, Brown's task is simple. He'll probably get fewer targets, but if he can provide a deep threat and open up space underneath, the better Washington's chances will be.

Things are coming together in Washington's wideout room. Samuel and Terry McLaurin are the top dogs. Luke McCaffrey represents an intriguing option with another offseason to develop. Brown and K.J. Osborn have been retained, which provides Daniels some much-needed familiarity with Kliff Kingsbury's schematic concepts.

Brown gained plenty of confidence despite how his season ended. But with a loftier salary comes raised expectations.

He must deliver accordingly.
