Jayden Daniels' supporting cast outside of wide receiver Terry McLaurin and maybe new tight end Chig Okonkwo couldn't be classed as stellar by any stretch. This is something the Washington Commanders must address with their six selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.

And for two-time Super Bowl-winning offensive lineman turned ESPN analyst Damien Woody, there is one move that would be nothing short of terrifying for the entire league.

Jeremiyah Love is easily the best offensive prospect in this class. One could argue about the value of running backs, but the Notre Dame prospect is so much more. The Commanders are reportedly interested, and why wouldn't they be? The question centers on whether he will be around when it's general manager Adam Peters' turn to pick at No. 7.

Damien Woody makes strong case for Commanders taking Jeremiyah Love at No. 7

Projections are sketchy. He could go to the Tennessee Titans at No. 4. The New York Giants may take the plunge at No. 5. Considering the lack of elite-level talent at the top end of this class, another team trading up to the Arizona Cardinals' spot at No. 3 couldn't be ruled out entirely.

The Commanders will wait. However, Woody thought the run-pass option offense Love would add with Daniels comes with exceptional promise that would cause nightmares around the NFL for a decade.

"The RPO game went down last year because Jayden Daniels was hurt. Could you imagine a backfield with Jaydenn Daniels and Jeremiyah Love? That would be absolutely terrifying.

"Here's why I like it so much. The Washington Commanders have been investing resources into their offensive line. It doesn't make sense for me if Jeremiyah Love goes to the Titans, because I don't think the Titans' offensive line is all that great. But for Washington? It makes a lot more sense, and I would love that move."

Love and Daniels would instantly become one of the most feared backfield tandems. Both need to be accounted for on every snap. This would completely open up David Blough's offense, freeing space on the outside and making the Commanders a dangerous play-action team capable of causing havoc.

There is nothing Love cannot do. He's a home-run hitter carrying the football. He's got the vision, burst, and contact balance to exploit the smallest gaps for lofty gains. The prospect's ability in the passing game is a major asset, and his skill set wouldn't look out of place in the slot or even in motion from the outside to exploit mismatches.

That is how special he is. If the Commanders get lucky with his availability in the first round, there is a solid chance he will be the guy.

And if Daniels can stay healthy in Year 3 of his professional career, the league will be firmly on notice.
