Commanders QBs (3)
- Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Athan Kaliakmanis.
The Washington Commanders will go as far as quarterback Jayden Daniels takes them. He'll be hoping for a better run of luck on the injury front after appearing in just seven games in 2025. Anything less, and head coach Dan Quinn will have a massive problem on his hands.
Marcus Mariota will back him up after signing a new one-year deal this offseason. The Commanders also spent their seventh-round pick on Athan Kaliakmanis, who is another insurance policy.
Commanders RBs (4)
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, Kaytron Allen, Jeremy McNichols.
The running back dynamic is interesting. Austin Ekeler wasn't brought back, with the Commanders signing Rachaad White and Jerome Ford in free agency. They also re-signed Jeremy McNichols and drafted Kaytron Allen on Day 3 to go alongside Jacory Croskey-Merritt.
It's a crowded room, and someone will be out of luck. Given McNichols' ability on special teams, that might be Ford.
Commanders WRs (6)
- Terry McLaurin, Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks.
Some in the media don't believe the Commanders have enough in their wide receiver room right now, despite spending a third-round pick on Antonio Williams. Adam Peters could have other moves lined up, with speculation continuing to rise around Brandon Aiyuk's potential arrival at some stage.
For now, six candidates have good chances of making the 53. But as always, it's a pretty fluid situation that could change in the weeks and months ahead.
Commanders TEs (3)
- Chig Okonkwo, John Bates, Ben Sinnott.
The Commanders spent decent money on Chig Okonkwo in free agency. His ability as a pass-catcher, with his yards-after-catch prowess, could provide the offense with something different. John Bates is the blocking specialist, and 2024 second-round pick Ben Sinnott will also be around in a make-or-break campaign.
If Sinnott doesn't increase his role next season, it'll be hard to justify giving him another shot in 2026. The Commanders could take a fourth onto the roster, which would probably be Colson Yankoff.
Commanders OL (9)
- Laremy Tunsil, Chris Paul, Nick Allegretti, Sam Cosmi, Josh Conerly Jr., Andrew Wylie, Matt Gulbin, Brandon Coleman, Trent Scott.
The Commanders' offensive line has some much-needed stability. Chris Paul re-signed, meaning four of the starting five from last season are back. Laremy Tunsil and Josh Conerly Jr. are the bookend tackle tandem, but there are concerns about the center position after Washington released Tyler Biadasz.
This was surprising. Biadasz was a dependable pro. The Commanders gave Nick Allegretti an extension early, giving him a shot at filling the void. However, the addition of Day 3 draft pick Matt Gulbin means there could be a competition over the summer.
