Daron Payne - Commanders DL
Daron Payne has made a lot of headlines this week, through no fault of his own. The trade deadline is almost here, which means the defensive lineman is back in the rumors swirling around the media.
Payne is out of contract next year, so moving him is feasible if the Commanders' losing run continues. That won't happen before this weekend, so the former Alabama standout must stay focused on the immediate task rather than focusing on what might come in the future.
He's experienced enough to do that effectively. And looking at how depleted Philadelphia's offensive line is, this looks like a good chance for Payne to have a dominant showing.
The Commanders are unlikely to have Javon Kinlaw, who is dealing with a knee injury. This puts more onus on Payne to step up, and a few interested suitors may be keeping a close eye on his performance at Northwest Stadium.
Rachaad White - Commanders RB
The Commanders are once again without running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who remains on injured reserve. Dan Quinn has already confirmed that Rachaad White will be the lead option alongside Jayden Daniels in the backfield again, and his performance has to improve to keep the spot.
White's been underwhelmed since joining in free agency. There have been some nice moments, but they're too fleeting. He's also been dealing with a shoulder injury before the bye, but it should be all systems go now.
While the Eagles' offense has some major problems, the defense can take over games. Those examples have been fewer this season, but White will still be tasked with setting the tone.
Yards might be hard to find against the stud defensive tackle tandem of Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis. White's success should come around the edges, and he must deliver whenever his number is called.
Dan Quinn - Commanders HC
Dan Quinn reportedly bought himself some time with the Commanders' second-half fightback against the San Francisco 49ers. The players are still fighting for their head coach, but just how much longer it lasts is the big question.
Quinn is confident that the problems that have held Washington back so far have been rectified. The bye week came at a good time, giving him a chance to take stock, identify issues, and find what he believes are the right solutions.
The mood is bullish again. But Quinn knows deep down that if he cannot beat this Eagles team, his position will almost become untenable.
Managing games more effectively would be a good place to start. Making sure everyone is aware of the situations at all times and executing effectively is crucial. After that, it's down to his coordinators and the players.
But if they cannot come through, Quinn's seat will be scalding.
